Institutional History

Founded in 2006 as the Scandinavian Art and Business Institute, SABI University was established as the first private and independent higher education institution in Finland. From our inception, we have been driven by a commitment to academic excellence and global accessibility, collaborating with renowned institutions such as the United Business Institute of Belgium and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences.

As our student body expanded across Europe and Asia, we pioneered flexible, engaging online learning environments. A major milestone in our global outreach occurred in 2011 with the establishment of our Paris campus and the expansion of our doctoral programs into Shanghai, setting the foundation for a truly international academic community.

In 2012, our vision evolved, and we officially rebranded as SABI University. This pivotal moment led to a comprehensive academic redesign and the cultivation of strategic partnerships with esteemed institutions, including the American University of Paris and IPAG Business School. Our dedication to institutional quality was formally recognized in 2015 when we earned the prestigious ASIC Premier Institute Accreditation.

By 2016, SABI University was recognized among the top ten international distance doctoral programs. We continued to advance our educational technologies, leading to our 2018 integration into the Canada-based Learntura Group and the deployment of our most advanced Learning Management System to date.

In late 2025, SABI University entered a defining new chapter following its acquisition by the Canada-based North Pacific Education Group. Today, our institutional mission is highly specialized and singularly focused on advanced, research-based education. We dedicate our resources and faculty expertise exclusively to our Executive Doctor of Business Administration (Executive DBA) and Postdoctoral Fellowship programs, empowering senior leaders and scholars to generate impactful research on a global scale.
