Your Applied Management Capstone
A substantial business problem, investigated and answered.
Investigate a substantial business or management problem using an approved employer, client, venture or public case. Your report will connect relevant scholarship with evidence, compare alternatives and set out a practical recommendation with an implementation plan and clear limitations.
The capstone normally contains 10,000 to 12,000 words, excluding references and appendices. It is assessed through a problem and evidence plan (15 percent), the final report (65 percent), and a presentation with individualized questions and responses (20 percent). Both the report and examination component must meet the required standard. A faculty assessor independent of the supervisor moderates the final work.
How You Will Study
Courses combine guided reading, cases, analytical exercises, faculty-led discussion and individual assignments. You receive published deadlines, assessment criteria and feedback. Scheduled seminars are supported by structured asynchronous participation arrangements where provided for the cohort.
The program requires approximately 1,500 to 1,800 hours of learning. A typical eight-week course requires about 19 to 23 hours per week. The intensive plan pairs courses in some teaching blocks and can require about 38 to 45 hours weekly during those periods. The part-time plan spreads the same work over a longer calendar. The capstone begins after all eight taught courses have been passed.
Assessment focuses on your analysis, judgment and ability to explain your work. SABI’s approved grading policy applies, with a minimum course pass of C / 73 percent and any essential component requirements stated in the syllabus.
Entry Requirements
Applicants normally provide:
- A recognized bachelor’s degree or verified international equivalent, with the academic transcript.
- Approximately two years of relevant professional experience.
- An up-to-date CV, identification and a statement of study objectives.
- Evidence of sufficient English proficiency for postgraduate study.
The normal academic benchmark is an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 on a four-point scale or equivalent, with a documented holistic review where appropriate. English readiness may be demonstrated through prior English-medium study or an accepted assessment. The normal IELTS Academic benchmark is 6.5 overall, with no component below 6.0, or equivalent.
Admissions may request an interview, additional documents or preparation in accounting, quantitative skills or academic writing. Admission depends on an assessment of the complete application.
Prior Learning and Alternative Routes
Relevant completed postgraduate study may be considered for transfer, subject to verified level, content, assessment and recency. Any approved credit is identified in your study plan.
The taught award is the Master of Business Administration (MBA). SABI’s Executive Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA or EMBA) is available only through the VAE Pathway, with its own diploma, capstone and examination requirements. The two routes use their exact approved award titles. Admissions will explain which fits your evidence and objectives.
